Metec AG has been a world-wide leading manufacturer of Braille cells since 1974. In Germany, we also offer a wide range of products and services for the blind and visually impaired.
Metec Engineering Ltd. was founded in 1974 to produce and further develop the first small electromagnetic Braille-cell ever. The first development step to this device had been made at the Stuttgart University's "Institute for design and manufacturing in fine mechanics". In 1975, Metec could ship the first lot of pocket calculators with a readout in Braille, thus starting the "Electronic Age" for the blind.
